Which PokerStake Player Took the Biggest Prize at the Latest Poker Masters Event?

Winning a PokerGO Tour Poker Masters title isn’t easy, and nor is picking the winner. If you were a PokerStake bettor this week, then you’ll know all about that, because at the final table, five of the final six players came from the PokerStake stable. We look back at a truly phenomenal event and how Darren Elias won his latest major title and which friends he beat along the way.

A Home Game Final Table

With 112 entries in the latest PokerGO Tour (PGT) Poker Masters event, a prize pool of $1,120,000 was divided between the top 16 players. Other big PokerStake players were present and correct; Erik Seidel banked $22,400 in 13th place, Jesse Lonis cashed for $33,600 in 9th place. But when it got to the final table, an incredible five out of the six finalists were from PokerStake.

At that stage, a clash between David Chen and Victoria Livschitz saw the latter exit for a score of $56,200. All-in with pocket fours, Victoria ran into Chen’s pocket queens and the latter’s hand held though both players would have departed had Elias called those two all-ins with ace-nine, an ace coming on the flop.

Adam Hendrix, who finished sixth in this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event, was the next to go. Adam, whose dedication to the game surprised some people post-WSOP, was at risk against David Chen too, this time with queen-jack against David’s king-nine. Although Adam hit a queen on the turn to move ahead, a king on the river cruelly ripped that hope away on the next card and a cash of $72,500 awaiting the most successful player in Alaskan poker history.

Elias Posts Latest Major Win

Stephen Song has been one of the most successful players in PokerStake history, winning over $1.24 million for himself and investors in tournaments featured on the site alone. Winning another $100,500 in this event, Stephen’s ace-ten was all-in pre-flop but fell well behind Darren’s queen-nine as the flop came with two queens. No help came on turn and river to save Stephen’s tournament as Darren continued to build towards victory.

The only non-PokerStake player to reach the final six busted next, as Neil Warren departed in third place for $129,000. His exit with ace-queen when Darren Elias’s pocket jacks won and David Chen’s pocket nines were folded, meant play moved heads-up. Darren Elias held the lead with 12,150,000 chips to David Chen’s 1,825,000.

The final battle saw David come back to level and then lead only for Darren to survive one all-in after a miraculous two pair having fallen behind to David’s two pair on the flop. Ten-eight beat pocket sevens to move the original chip leader back into the kind of advantage he began with then saw his queen-jack make a straight against David’s ace-deuce.

With the two men winning $280,000 and $185,000 respectively, Darren Elias’ latest win saw him move past $14.1 million in live tournament earnings as well as 17 ranking titles.

Who Has Won the Most for PokerStake Investors?

Of the final six, we already mentioned Stephen Song’s excellent record of over $1.2 million for him and PokerStake investors. But of the other players at the final table, who has won more? Well, Adam Hendrix is ahead of Stephen, with a total winnings on the site of $1,697,631.  His biggest win is the $570,671 he took in this year’s WSOP High Roller in PLO, which had a buy-in of $50,000 and returned money at a rate of more than 11 to 1 for PokerStake investors.

David Chen’s record is close and considering he hasn’t been on the site very long, is astounding. Winning $1.38 million, David’s biggest win so far is the $262,000 he took home – and shared among his PokerStake investors – in the $25,800-entry Wynn Classic No Limit hold’em 8-Max event. His biggest staking result, however, was this Poker Master Event #4, returning money at 1,762% profit.
