The World Series of Poker Europe Moves to Prague in 2026

The world’s biggest poker series is moving house in Europe. From 2026, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe festival will be played in the Czech capital of Prague, rather than in the quiet border town of Rozvadov. The move, expected to bring hundreds more players to the WSOP tables, is also going to happen sooner than expected, with next year’s WSOP Europe festival beginning in March instead of September.
Rozvadov Move Announced During 2025 Series
“It’s an exciting rebirth of the World Series of Poker Europe in Prague.”
The 2025 WSOP Europe Main Event was still in action when a groundbreaking announcement made everyone at the tables take pause. After several years in Rozvadov, the Czech-German border town dedicated almost entirely to poker, the WSOPE is returning to another classic poker city – the capital of Czechia, Prague.
Here’s how Ty Stewart, the WSOP’s Chief Executive Officer, announced the change:
“It’s an exciting rebirth of the World Series of Poker Europe in Prague. We have a big ambition to elevate this festival to one of the very best in the world and look forward to welcoming players to a great poker city next April.”
The second part of the move was announced in that last sentence. Instead of September, players will gather at the Hilton hotel in Prague from March 31, two months before the start of the Las Vegas WSOP series in May, June and July. The change from Autumn to Spring will certainly take getting used to but feels a more natural warm-up for the WSOP than where the WSOP Europe has landed in recent years, between the Las Vegas and Bahamas series.
With the incredible success of WSOP Paradise, the WSOP Europe festival’s move to a busier city with bustling nightlife and entertainment on every corner can only grow the fields in the 15 events that will take place between March 31 and April 12.
A Clash of King’s
While the WSOP is moving from Rozvadov to the Czech capital, the action will be familiar to everyone taking part. That because the team behind Europe’s biggest cardroom in Rozvadov will be organising the at-felt drama at King’s Casino Prague, the official venue for the 2026 WSOP Europe series.
This bodes well for poker fans, with some amazing memories in Rozvadov sure to be added to in Prague. Previous winners on the WSOP Europe trail include pioneering poker teenager Annette Obrestad, who won the original 2007 WSOP Europe Main Event. Other winners of the Main Event in Europe include Phil Hellmuth, who is not only the most successful player in WSOP history, winning 17 bracelets, but is also the only player in history to win the Main Event in both Europe and the United States.
While the full 2026 WSOPE schedule will be released soon, along with specifics around tournament formats and buy-ins, the series will feature 15 gold bracelet events, with the revolutionary game-changer of the WSOP+ app, the digital platform designed from the ground up to enhance the player experience, firmly in place.
Everything is set for what will doubtless be the biggest WSOP Europe for many years.
