PokerStake Players Line Up for Late Glory in Paris

The European Poker Tour has stopped in Paris and the action has been red hot in the French capital. With a massive schedule of events, PokerStake players have posted some late action in the series and the value is unmissable, with big hitters laying out their wares for poker fans to snap up. Who’ll win big in France over the next seven days? We’ve got the latest.
Bounty Bullets to Buy
The 42nd event of the series is the €1,650 ($1,950) Mystery Bounty event, and two PokerStake players could offer a swift route to profit for you if you back them. North Macedonian Ilija Savevski is selling two bullets to the event at a markup of 1.05, which is very reasonable given his recent record in exactly that format. Cashing in the WSOP Mystery Millions, Ilija also won money in Monte Carlo in the EPT Mystery Bounty event last Spring, and even added a cash in Tirana, Albania three months ago.
Ilija doesn’t just love the format, he wins money playing it and we rate him very highly to do the same this week. As recently as seven days ago, Ilija cashed in the $1,800-entry PokerStars Open Main Event, which saw 2,994 total entries. Ilija finished in 104th place for a very impressive score of $8,075 and he looks set for another deep run in this week’s Mystery Bounty event.
The Bulgarian player Atanas Pavlov is another player selling to the same event and also offers two bullets for sale, albeit at the higher markup of 1.20. So is Atanas worth the stake? Absolutely. Already cashing twice during this EPT Paris festival, the Bulgarian won $12,296 after coming 43rd in the PokerStars Open Main Event before adding another $4,854 to his winnings by making the money in the PokerStars Open High Roller.
Atanas Pavlov is due an outright win in poker, and he could well grab glory in the French capital in an event he’s bound to thrive in.
High Roller Heroes
The €10,300 ($12,150) High Roller Event #41 will have not one but four players from the PokerStake stable in when it kicks off. Stephen Song, a former EPT Barcelona Main Event champion, will be among that number but his action is selling out fast. Priced at a markup of 1.20, Stephen is selling two bullets to the event, as are Antoine Saout (1.20 markup) and Aram Zobian (1.11/1.15 markup).
Jessica Teusl is also playing the same event but while others have their markup considerably higher, Jessica’s is priced at between 1.02 and 1.05 depending on whether you buy some of her first bullet or second. Jessica is highly experienced and we think she’s massively undervalued herself in terms of markup versus her edge over the field, especially given her recent exploits in high roller and super high roller events.
Talking of super high rollers…
Two Giants Take on the Big One
Two of PokerStake’s most experienced elite pros take on the €50,000 ($59,000) Super High Roller in Event #31, with Brandon Wilson and Justin Saliba flying the flag. There is virtually nothing between the two men’s prices here, with Brandon selling at 1.06 and Justin at 1.05.
Once again, we feel like both men could crush the field and we can’t pick between them. If you’ve budgeted for a certain amount to back high rollers on the site, then we’d take a leaf out of Josh Arieh’s book. He spoke to us last year about the benefits of splitting your stake across their two bullets but in this event, single entries only are on the cards for both Brandon and Justin.
In this case, we’d split our investment equally between both men. So if you planned to back one of the men for $100, we’d suggest backing Brandon and Justin for $50 each. That bet is not tailored to any budget or bankroll, so scale up and down accordingly and always back your chosen player responsibly.
