No Limit Brings Streamers Dreams to Life in The Bahamas

The third episode of No Limit has been released to a hungry poker public and it’s a cracker. After an episode introducing both the format of the show along with the players at the top of their games, and another focusing on the emotional pull of poker, the latest No Limit turns the spotlight on a specific section of poker players – streamers and vloggers.
Episode 3 – Next in Line
The World of Wolfgang
“I think streamers are fantastic for poker.” – Phil Hellmuth, world record holding WSOP title winner.
German professional Wolfgang Poker Alexander Seibt is introduced to us at the start of the episode and from the off, is a walking, talking ball of entertainment. The streamer, who has, in the words of Abby Merk, ‘perfected poker shorts’, registers for tournaments, jokes with friends and rivals on the floor before hitting the felt.
Wolfgang’s fans are plenty, and the 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth is one of them.
“I think the streamers are fantastic for poker,” says The Poker Brat, the record holder for WSOP titles. “To me it’s 100% good for poker.”
So how good is Wolfgang? As a content creator, his short-form videos explaining the life of a cash game player are second to none. Snappy, full of engaging hooks, the YouTube genius has hundreds of thousands of poker fans and players of all levels love his work.
“I think he’s one of the best content creators in the world… and a decent poker player. He’s decent.” Jeff Platt said, the PokerGO broadcaster and tournament player himself giving an honest appraisal of how Seibt could become even better at the felt in years to come.
The Mathers Hit The Bahamas
“She’s always been super-nice… even when I was a nobody.” Jesse Lonis on Lexy Gavin-Mather
The first couple we meet in The Bahamas are one of poker’s most popular. Lexy Gavin-Mather and Bob Mather are wholesome content personified and the documentary follows Lexy’s journey as she takes on the $25,000-entry Super Main Event, a tournament she calls ‘the biggest event of my life’.
What’s clear from the footage of Lexy is that her popularity is sky-high right now and a galaxy of stars line up to pay tribute to the much-like content creator and player.
“I’ve been friends with Lexy since I started playing tournaments,” says high stakes crusher Jesse Lonis. “She’s someone who’s always been super-nice even when I was a nobody.”
As those words confirm, Lexy has been around in poker for a long time and the footage of her dining out with friends Maria Ho and Kristen Foxen is great to see, as three of the best female poker players in history discuss poker, relationships and other facets of the game.
When Lexy talks about her YouTube channel, she is very modest, almost to the point where as a viewer you want to remind her just how successful her work in the industry really is.
“[The channel] took off and I got hooked. I got my husband in on the channel.”
After breakfast, where ‘Boston Rob’ Mariano advises Lexy and Bob on his strategy for Survivor, Bob is more than complimentary about his wife, 23 years his junior and clearly stuck on her ‘silver fox’.
“When the cards are coming out, she’ll make comments on it, I can’t do that, I’m holding my breath waiting for the river. She’s amazing.”
Faraz Fires but Dwyer Stars
Also playing in the Super Main Event is Faraz Jaka and while the poker coach and tournament crusher isn’t shown streaming anything, his footage once again brightens the episode. One of poker’s good guys, Faraz is filmed going all-in early in the $25,000 Super Main Event, losing with pocket nines despite drawing to a nine or club on the river.
Dealing with the flips going against him rather than with him looks easy for Faraz, who returns to the tables to find out how his protégé, Irishman Michael Dwyer is faring. It turns out that the student has learned plenty from the master and things are going well for Michael.
After the two men break bread at the dinner break with their friends and families, Michael reveals that Faraz and his coaching videos called out to him at a pivotal point in his poker career where he may have plateaued.
“His coaching side has been fantastic and is really good for me as a recreational player,” Michael says. “After some burnout, I came across a video on hacks on the mental game of poker. He was speaking straight to my soul, giving me balance in life.”
Michael is a mature poker player, and many players of his age are calling with queens or better. Not a bit of it from the Irishman, whose game is well-rounded. His demeanour around friends is genuinely heart-warming. Michael’s sentiments on the actual game of poker at the felt echo those of Faraz.
“If you want my chips, come and get them,” he says. “But there’s going to be a battle and you’d better be ready for it.”
