Nick Schulman Wins Latest Mixed Games Event as Chino Rheem Rises

The latest PokerGO Tour Mixed Games event saw Nick Schulman capture his eight PGT title of an illustrious career as PokerStake’s own Chino Rheem once again booked profit. The fourth event of the PGT Mixed Games series was in 8-Game format and cost $10,200 to play, attracting 84 runners and producing drama at the seven-handed final table in Las Vegas.

Rheem Books Profit Yet Again

Nick Schulman would eventually celebrate his eighth career PGT victory, but Chino Rheem, who made it to nine last week in the PGT Mixed Games series, also made profit for the event. After winning the first event of the six scheduled for a massive $112,100,  Chino added another $12,250 to his PGT earnings by coming 12th and booking a min-cash, putting his lifetime poker earnings up to $19.38 millions, and bumping him to 74th in the All-Time Money List on The Hendon Mob.

It was the Argentinian pro Nacho Barbero who bubbled the money in Event #4, with his exit putting a dozen players in the money places. After the elimination of Chino Rheem, others to make a profit on their $10,200 investment included Dan Shak, Chad Eveslage and the PokerStake player Jeremy Ausmus, who finished in ninth place for $25,200.

The final table of seven was soon set, and Jesse Klein was the first to leave the party for $33,600. All-in with ace-queen, he lost to Frenchman Nicolas Milgrom, as the PokerStake player’s ace-king held with ease in No Limit Hold’em and the chip leader grew stronger in his quest to win a second PGT title.

Seiver’s Hopes Severed

With six left, Walter Chambers left for a score of $42,000. All-in with pocket tens against the pocket aces of Nick Schulman, Chambers couldn’t hit a ten and soon slid out of contention. It took a long time to see a player bust in fifth and when it came, it was the 2024 WSOP Player of the Year.

Scott Seiver lost a chunk in 2-7 Triple Draw before then being forced all-in from the small blind in the very next hand. Holding a six-draw, Seiver couldn’t improve against Schulman’s pat ten-eight and cashed for $58,800 as he bade his fellow players good luck as he left the PokerGO Studio at ARIA in Las Vegas.

Milgrom was a monster chip leader at one point, but Schulman’s sprint for the line was taking over and the Frenchman was the American’s next victim. All-in with a pat eight-seven, Milgrom was unable to hold as Schulman drew successfully to an eight-smooth, taking the French pro out for a very respectable score of $79,800 in fourth place.

Schulman Books the Win

With three players left, the Polish player Dzmitry Urbanovich was the odd man out, cashing for $109,200. It was a hand of No Limit hold’em that did for the Polish player, as his ace-nine was dominated to defeat by Schulman’s ace-queen. That hand gave Schulman a lead of 9.97 million chips to Qinghai Pan’s 2.62 million going into the final battle.

In the final hand, Pan was all-in in a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo as Nick Schulman was sitting with a made low and a flush draw. The only card that Pan needed to fade was a king but the seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Schulman hit it and in doing so took down the tournament and the $235,200 top prize. For Pan, it was a disappointing end to a great tournament as he took home $151,200 as runner-up.

As well as the $235,200 in prize money, Schulman also banked 235 PGT points, good enough to move him into third place on the PGT Mixed Games leaderboard and into 10th on the PGT leaderboard for the season. Whoever finishes in the top 40 across the year will make the $1,000,000 PGT Championship freeroll that kicks off 2027. Earlier this year, Chad Eveslage won this year’s version for a top prize of $500,000.

Schulman, who now has just under $10 million in PGT winnings alone, is in one of the box seats to make that cut.
