15 Bigs: Norwegian Tournament Crusher Jon Kyte Takes on Our Tricky Teasers

Every poker player will, at one point or another, face a decision for their poker tournament life on their way to victory. The Norwegian poker professional and PokerStake seller Jon Kyte has been there before, time and again. Down to 15 bigs, he’ll commit his chips and either double-up or bust.
Our 15 Bigs are designed to put players to the test in exactly the same way. We’ve put together the ultimate list of 15 questions that should push Jon to his limit in balancing his emotional responses with strategic answers. Will the Norwegian MTT specialist survive?
Let’s find out.
You’re on a long-haul flight and can only choose one TV Show or Movie to watch on repeat, which is your pick?
Friends. You can never get tired of watching Friends.

If you were stranded on a desert island with one book for company, what would it be?
The Bible. Endless wisdom.
What’s the song you could listen to on repeat forever?
In The End – Mellen Gi Remix, my most listened song.
What’s your favourite place to play poker and why?
I would have to say Prague as I keep getting lucky there and I get my biggest wins from Prague.
If you were to be shot at dawn, what would be your last meal and drink?
Norwegian tacos with a champagne. Fun mix.

That is a fun mix. We just learned that 80% of Norwegians eat tacos on a Friday night… who knew? Right. Let’s get serious. Where’s your favourite non-poker holiday destination?
Wherever I go I play poker, but since I don’t live in Norway anymore I would have to say summer vacation in Norway is amazing.
You can play poker every day for a year or play no poker for a whole 12 months – which do you choose?
Every day easy. I usually play 300 days a year anyway.
Who is the person you don’t have around anymore that you miss the most?
Definitely my brothers, don’t see them that often anymore.
Which person would you most like to meet but never have?
I don’t have any idols, but it would have to be Morgan Freeman.

When’s the last time life put you on tilt?
When I had to pay taxes on a slot machine win, never doing slots in Las Vegas again!
Norwegians such as the 2014 WSOP Main Event runner-up can pay up to 50% on their winnings in major events. Yikes! If you couldn’t play the WSOP Main Event next year, which family member would you put into the action in your place?
Definitely my youngest brother Ole, he’s the only one in my family to ever play an official tournament, even though he didn’t cash I could teach him well in the next few months.
What’s your best poker skill?
Understanding people, reading them, which is hard to teach others.
And your biggest leak?
Not being able to avoid certain spots, I always go for it! I’m too aggressive sometimes.

If you could make one rule change to poker, what would it be?
Pot limit preflop in hold’em instead of no limit. No limit post flop of course.
You have just ten seconds with the person of your dreams… who are they and what do you say?
My grandfather and just how much I miss him and how much fun we had skiing together when I grew up.
With that final answer, Jon might just have melted our stony poker heart. Jon absolutely crushed the competition like always, so if you want to back Jon or any of our PokerStake players in forthcoming events, head straight to our official staking page here. Jon has already won big in 2026, coming fourth for $43,700 out of 414 total entries in the Merit Poker Montenegro $2,000 Main Event this week.
Big things are round the corner for the jolly Norwegian Jon Kyte… and we can’t wait to see them!
